Finding Better Windows

Spring Cleaning? 4 Deep Cleaning Projects That are Worth Paying Someone Else to Do

Many deep-cleaning projects involve a great deal of hard, heavy and dirty work. Some are even quite dangerous. For these reasons, you might want to think about hiring someone to do some of your deep-cleaning projects for you. Not only will paying someone else to do your dirty work for you allow you to avoid the nasty, dangerous jobs, it will free up your time so you can pursue more pleasurable activities. Not sure what to hire out and what to do yourself? Following are some of the toughest jobs that are worth paying someone else to do.

Windows

In an ideal world, you should clean your windows, including the outside, twice a year. While wiping down the inside of your windows usually isn't difficult unless you have exceptionally tall or custom windows, but reaching the outside can be quite the chore. If you don't have tilt-in windows, you will have to climb up on a ladder to clean the outside of your windows. Standing on a ladder is dangerous, back-breaking work. For these reasons, this job is best hired out. Consider looking into local services, such as Clear View, Inc.

Furnace

Your furnace, chimney, duct work and fireplace are all dirty, grimy places. What's more, many of them are difficult, if not impossible, to clean properly without the proper equipment. Your chimney should be inspected and cleaned, if necessary, once per year. Likewise, your furnace and fireplace should be cleaned and inspected annually. Your duct work should be cleaned every two to five years. Since many of these jobs require expertise and special equipment, it's always a good idea to hire someone else to do them.

Oven

While cleaning your oven isn't difficult, it is a dirty, time-consuming project. If you'd rather not do it at all, think about hiring a cleaning service twice per year to do all your deep cleaning for you, including your oven. Having someone else clean your light fixtures and wipe down your walls is well worth the money as well.

Closets

You can go through your closets and get rid of stuff to your heart's content, but if you're not a great organizer, your closets will be back to their old selves in no time. If your closets could use a little organization or, perhaps, some shelves and drawers to make them perfect, think about hiring a professional organizer to go through your closets.

There are many jobs around your house that you can hire out. If you don't have the time or energy to get to your chore list after working all week, think about paying someone else to do the work for you.
